grandma doris’ angel food cake

My grandma makes the best angel food cake.  ever.  Fairly simple and very delicious.  I take the easy way out and make a boxed angel food cake mix – baked in a traditional angel food cake pan.  Cooled completely and removed from pan – ready for the magical touch. 

Frosting preparation:

Best way:

  • Whipping cream (whipped)
  • Butterscotch topping (to taste)
  • Chopped walnuts

Mix well and frost the angel food cake.  Sprinkle with chopped walnuts (optional) and refrigerate.  Serve.

Easy way:

  • Cool whip tub
  • Butterscotch topping (to taste)
